KIRA BESTER

Hi, I’m Kira Bester! I’m an enthusiastic and driven 23-year-old ocean racing surfski paddler, who thrives on hard work, grit and determination. 

In 2024, I achieved a long term goal of mine to win both the Open Ladies and U23 titles at the ICF Ocean Racing World Championships, cementing my place among the world’s top paddlers. Achievements like these are a reflection of the passion I bring to every race and the hours of dedication I have poured into my sport. 

With my studies at the University of Cape Town now complete, I am excited to focus fully on my paddling career while continuing to challenge myself both on and off the water. My enthusiastic personality and love for life keep me energised,  as I tackle new opportunities and encourage others to pursue their goals.

For me, paddling is not just a sport—it’s a way to connect with nature, push my limits and hopefully inspire others to ride their own waves of ambition.
